Wyld Ecology & Design
Our work sits at the intersection of ecology, horticulture, and design. As ecological consultants, we provide practical, scientifically grounded advice to enhance habitats, increase species diversity, and deliver measurable environmental benefits. As garden designers, we translate that knowledge into beautiful, functional spaces—gardens that are rich in structure, seasonality, and life, and that continue to evolve long after installation.

At the heart of our practice is our own market garden, where we grow a carefully selected range of shrubs, perennials, and herbs chosen for their ecological value as well as their beauty. Growing our own plants allows us to work with robust, locally adapted stock, reduce unnecessary inputs, and ensure that biodiversity is embedded from the very first planting. It also keeps us closely connected to the realities of soil, climate, and plant performance—knowledge that informs every project we undertake.

Whether we are advising on habitat creation, designing a private or public garden, or supplying plants grown with care, our aim is the same: to enhance biodiversity in meaningful, lasting ways. We believe that well-designed landscapes can be both ecologically rich and deeply human—places that nourish wildlife, support communities, and reconnect us with the natural world.
We combine expertise and practical experience to enhance biodiversity, restoring habitats and creating landscapes where wildlife can thrive alongside people.

We design gardens that are both beautiful and functional, blending creativity with ecological knowledge to create spaces that delight, nurture, and evolve over time.

Our approach follows permaculture principles, designing landscapes that are self-sustaining, resilient, and productive, working in harmony with natural systems to benefit both people and the environment.

At our market garden on Exmoor, we carefully cultivate herbs, perennials, and shrubs using organic, peat-free methods, growing plants that are healthy, resilient, and rich in biodiversity.
